The Artist Blue Ageratum has an open habit and will add texture to large containers. It is also exceptionally heat tolerant. They produce radiant clusters of fuzzy flowers, blooming May through October.

Dahlia

Dahlias were first recorded by Westerners in 1615, when they were called by their Mexican name, acoctli.  They disappeared from record until 1787 when a botanical expedition 'rediscovered' them, and sent seeds back to their headquarters in Europe.  Their existence was kept secret for another ten years however.

The cornflower or bachelor's button gets it's name from natively growing as a weed in cornfields in Europe. SInce 1968 the blur cornflower has been the national flower of Estonia and symbolizes daily bread to Estonians.



Passion Flower

Passion flowers have a long history of use with Native Americans, in both North and Central America. It is used to treat insomnia, hysteria, epilepsy, and is also valued for its painkilling properties.

Passion flowers were named for the passion of Christ, because the flower structure seemed symbolic of Jesus' scourging, crowning with thorns, and crucifixion.
